"MARCH COMES IN LIKE A LION AND GOES OUT LIKE A LAMB". This is the theme of our hallway bulletin board this month. The children will have their lions and lambs displayed above their cubbies as we watch and see if the saying is really true. During our Calendar & Weather time each morning, we will be displaying the day's weather with a picture on our Weather Graph. At the end of the month, we will be able to see how many of each kind of "weather day" we had during March.
In religion, the children will hear different stories throughout Lent that tell about some of the miracles Jesus performed. They will come to understand that these miracles helped to show his disciples that he truly was the Son of God.
Our Unit 7 story is The City Mouse and the Country Mouse. The children will work with the color brown, learn about the letters Oo, Pp and Qq and practice recognizing and tracing rectangles. They will learn how to follow arrows in print and how to distinguish between long/short lines and objects. The children will learn to make predictions and they will also continue to listen for words that, when spoken, are mentioned in either the same sequential order or a different sequential order.
In math, the children will practice reading and marking graphs depicted with pictures. They will continue to learn about and compare different forms of measurement. The children will use math manipulatives such as bear counters and linking cubes as they study the concepts more than and less than.
There will be many stories to read and several art projects and activites to complete throughout this month having to do with weather, St. Patrick's Day and Easter. It promises to be another fun and busy time in PreK-4!!!
I hope you have a wonderful month and a Blessed and Happy Easter!!!
