Behavior/Sportsmanship Rubric

This rubric will help to grade students on their daily behavior and sportsmanship in class. To achieve a skill number, students must demonstrate all the skills in that scoring level. Emphasis is on daily behavior in class and going above and beyond what is required each day.

Skill Number	Explanation of Skill Level
10	Student receives 0 warnings/behavior marks throughout the unit Student helps others to stay on task, shows good sportsmanship during all activities, and is a leader during class by setting a good example for behavior/sportsmanship Demonstrates comprehensive understanding, can practice, lead or even instruct in a game successfully, shows good use of strategy
9-8	Student receives 1 or less warnings/behavior marks throughout the unit Student is on task during class and demonstrates good sportsmanship but does not always help others stay on task Demonstrates good understanding, can participate in a game successfully, and shows understanding of strategy
7-6	Student receives 2-5 warnings/behavior marks throughout the unit Student is off task/shows bad sportsmanship daily and their behavior continues until it is corrected by students or the teacher Demonstrates general understanding, can participate in a game and understand some strategies
5	Student receives 5 or more warnings/behavior marks throughout the unit Student is off task/shows bad sportsmanship daily and their behavior continues until it is corrected by students or the teacher Demonstrates little or no understanding. Shows the need to further work in the area of game play and strategy.
